The Massucci Law Group takes great pride in the hard work and dedication of our Office Manager, Marisa Ray, seen here front and center walking with the Kaleidoscope Youth Center (KYC) Team in the Columbus Pride Parade. Marisa and her fiancé, Daniel Gooden make Pride an annual event, and are committed to being strong allies for LGBTQIA youth.
Marisa’s commitment extends far beyond Pride Week. As a weekly volunteer at KYC, she devotes her time and attention to young members of our community who are sometimes struggling with their identity and searching for a supportive adult who can be their friend and advocate.
“The youth at KYC inspire me every day,” Marisa says,” they are facing the normal adversities of adolescence while in many cases also experiencing discrimination, abuse, family upset, abandonment, and even homelessness. Yet they come into the center and they are bright, positive, and open.”
A Safe Place for LGBTQIA Youth in Central Ohio
Marisa says KYC allows these youth a safe place “to be themselves without judgment, a place to get some stress free relaxation, and a source of help when they need it,” and that “(the youth) have given me a lot of perspective, and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to be a listening ear, helping hand, and friendly face to these amazing kids and the KYC Family.”
Marisa is devoted to KYC’s mission of working in partnership with young people in Central Ohio to create safe and empowering spaces for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex and Ally youth through advocacy, education, support, and community engagement.
